About This Car
This 1998 Audi A4 1.8T Quattro was registered with one owner in California before it was acquired in 2023 by the selling dealer, who reports the vehicle had been in storage since 2010. Finished in Casablanca White over Opal Gray leatherette, it was optioned with the Sport Package that included seven-spoke 16â³ wheels, a sport steering wheel, and sport-tuned suspension. It also has a sunroof and automatic climate control. Power comes from a turbocharged 1.8-liter inline-four that drives all four wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle. Reconditioning in 2024 involved replacing the timing belt, water pump, fuel pump, cooling hoses, and tires. Previously listed on BaT in December 2024, this B5 A4 sedan is now offered by the selling dealer at no reserve with an accident-free Carfax report, service records from the past year, and a clean California title.
Early examples of the B5 A4 have amber side indicator lights, squared-off door handles, and a reduced-size right mirror. Other exterior details include headlamp washers, dual exhaust finishers, and a glass sunroof. Flaws around the body are pictured in the gallery below.
Made for Audi by Ronal, the 16â³ alloy Swing-design wheels are mounted with 205/55 Goodyear Assurance All-Season tires with 2023 and 2024 date codes. The 1BE sport suspension featured lowered ride height in addition to revised spring rates and damping, and the carâs anti-lock disc brakes have Electronic Differential Lock traction control.
The manually adjustable front seats are trimmed in Opal Gray leatherette. Aluminum trim accents the cabin, which has automatic climate control and an Audi Concert cassette stereo, however the head unit is locked with a security code.
The leather-wrapped sport steering wheel is mounted on a tilt-and-telescoping column, and it frames gray-dial instruments as well as a digital odometer that indicates 35k miles.
The turbocharged 1.8-liter AEB inline-four was factory rated at 150 horsepower and 155 lb-ft of torque. The timing belt, water pump, fuel pump, cooling hoses, accessory drive belts, and battery were replaced in the past year, and the car most recently passed a California emissions test in September 2024.
Power is sent to all four wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle and a Quattro all-wheel-drive system with a Torsen center differential.
The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and at least one open recall.
