About This Car
This 1983 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ60 underwent modifications and a cosmetic refurbishment and was featured in the upcoming film The End of Nowhere following the seller’s 2023 acquisition. The 4.2-liter 2F inline-six was modified with Holley electronic fuel injection, an aluminum radiator, and tubular headers, and power is transmitted via a four-speed manual transmission and a two-speed transfer case. The truck rides on 15″ steel wheels mounted with 33″ tires as well as a lift kit with Bilstein dampers, and the body was refinished in metallic blue over patterned black upholstery. Additional equipment includes locking front hubs, Dissent Off-Road bumpers, a roof rack, air conditioning, and a Kenwood stereo. This FJ60 shows 239k miles and is offered with movie set photos, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Texas title in the seller’s name.
The truck left the factory finished in Light Blue Metallic (861) and was repainted circa 2023. It has been fitted with Dissent Off-Road front and rear bumpers as well as LED headlights, Rigid fog lights, and a roof rack. The headlight high beams are not connected, the fuel door lock needs replacement, and a chip is noted in the windshield. The seller states the paint on the tailgate latch should be removed.
Black 15â³ steel wheels wear hubcaps and are mounted with 33×9.5″ Kenda Klever R/T tires. The suspension has been fitted with a lift kit with Bilstein dampers and an Old Man Emu steering stabilizer. The truck is equipped with locking front hubs, and braking is handled by front discs and rear drums, the former of which were fitted with calipers sourced from a V6-powered 4Runner per the seller.
The cabin was refreshed with black patterned seat upholstery that extends to the door panels as well as aftermarket front seat belts, sound deadening material, and a replacement headliner, seat foam, and carpeting. Equipment includes air conditioning, a rear window defroster, and a Kenwood stereo housed in the locking center console. The seller reports the radio and cassette player are not connected but are operational as shown in the video below. The cigarette lighter is inoperative, and the right sun visor clip is broken.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames an 85-mph speedometer, a 4,500-rpm tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature, voltage, oil pressure, and fuel level. A Holley fuel injection display is mounted to the right of the steering column. The six-digit odometer shows 239k miles.
The seller notes the 4.2-liter 2F inline-six was overhauled in 2020 under previous ownership and modified in 2023 with Holley Sniper electronic fuel injection, an aluminum radiator, a 220-amp alternator, a relocated heater valve, tubular headers, and a fabricated exhaust system. Additional work at that time is said to have included replacing the valve cover gasket, water pump, thermostat, heater hoses, various belts, spark plugs, fuel tank and lines, and the compressor and receiver drier for the air conditioning system, which has been converted to utilize R134a refrigerant. A fluid leak is noted.
Power is delivered to the rear or all four wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a two-speed transfer case. The seller reports the clutch disc and hydraulic cylinders were replaced in 2023, at which time the front axle was rebuilt. Corrosion is noted on underside components, additional photos of which are provided in the gallery.
The Carfax report is free of accidents or other reported damage.
