About This Car
This 1978 Mercedes-Benz 450SLC spent nearly three decades with its previous owner before it was acquired by the selling dealer in 2025. It is finished in white over Parchment leather and is powered by a 4.5-liter M117 V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes 14″ Bundt alloy wheels, a sunroof, fog lights, heated front seats, rear seats, air conditioning, power windows, and a cassette stereo. This 450SLC shows 55k miles and is offered in Arizona by the selling dealer with a window sticker, an owner’s manual, and a clean Illinois title.
The SLC features a wheelbase approximately 14â³ longer than the convertible SL, affording room for rear seats. This one left the factory finished in Silver Green Metallic (861) and has been repainted in white. Exterior features include a sunroof, a power antenna, and fog lights. A chip in the rear window is shown in the gallery below.
The 14″ Bundt alloy wheels are mounted with 215/70 SA4 All Season tires. Braking is handled by four-wheel power-assisted discs.
Parchment leather covers the front and rear seats, which are complemented by wood trim. Amenities include front-seat heating, air conditioning, a cassette stereo, and power windows. Alpine speakers have been installed. There are tears in the upholstery and cracks in the dash.
The four-spoke steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer, a clock, and gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and instant fuel economy. The six-digit odometer shows 55k miles, approximately 50 of which have been added by the selling dealer.
The 4.5-liter M117 V8 sends power to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission. The selling dealer reports that work in February 2025 included draining the fuel tank and replacing the fuel pump, fuel accumulator, and fuel filter.

The window sticker notes initial delivery to Herb Gordon Oldsmobile, Inc, in Silver Spring, Maryland, along with factory colors, equipment, and a total suggested retail price of $32,023.
