About This Car
This 2008 Porsche Boxster RS 60 Spyder is #1,783 of 1,960 examples produced to commemorate Porscheâs 1960 victory at the 12 Hours of Sebring. Powered by a 3.4-liter flat-six linked with a five-speed Tiptronic S automatic transaxle, the car is finished in GT Silver Metallic over Carrera Red Natural leather. The car has spent time in Texas, Louisiana, and Florida and now has 57k miles. Equipment includes the Sport Chrono, Bi-Xenon Headlamp, and Bose High-End Sound packages as well as a revised sport exhaust, heated sport seats, PASM dampers, a red soft top, 19â³ SportDesign wheels, and a Sony touchscreen infotainment system. Recently acquired by the selling dealer, this 987.1 Boxster RS 60 Spyder is now offered with a clean Florida title.
All RS 60 models were finished in GT Silver Metallic (M7Z), and this example is equipped with a power-operated red convertible soft top. Additional exterior details comprise a SportDesign front lower valance, a rear spoiler, a gloss black windshield surround, body-color roll bars, dual center exhaust outlets, and auto-dimming mirrors with a rain sensor. The Carfax report notes that the left front of the car sustained “moderate” damage in two accidents in 2017 with the first incident resulting in airbag deployment. Clear paint protection film covers the front section of the nose, and the front lip spoiler has scrapes. Photos of paint meter readings are provided in the gallery below.
The 19â³ SportDesign wheels were fitted with 5mm spacers from the factory and are mounted with Sumitomo tires. The right-rear wheel has curb marks. Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) and Porsche Stability Management (PSM) were standard equipment. Braking is handled by four-piston Porsche-branded calipers over cross-drilled rotors measuring 12.5″ and 11.8″ front and rear, respectively.
The heated sport seats have debossed Porsche crests on the headrests and are trimmed in Carrera Red Natural leather that extends to the dashboard and door panels. Black carpets line the floors, and the center console and seatbacks are finished in silver. Further appointments include a Bose sound system, automatic climate control, cruise control, a Sony touchscreen infotainment system, and RS 60 Spyder-branded stainless-steel door sill guards.
A serialized plate on the glovebox door denotes the car as #1,783 of 1,960 RS 60 Spyders produced.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel is equipped with shift switches and frames a hoodless instrument cluster housing factory gauges. The Sport Chrono Package specified a stopwatch atop the dashboard. The digital odometer indicates 57k miles.
The mid-mounted 3.4L flat-six is located ahead of the rear cargo area and was factory rated at 303 horsepower and 251 lb-ft of torque.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed Tiptronic S automatic transaxle. The RS 60 Spyder featured a revised sport exhaust system from the factory.
The Carfax report notes the aforementioned accident entries.
