About This Car
This 1979 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ43 spent time in Yemen before the selling dealer’s acquisition and importation to the US in 2024. The truck was refurbished with work that included refinishing the exterior in Freeborn Red and retrimming the interior in Burberry-style vinyl, and it is powered by a 4.2-liter 2F inline-six linked with a four-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. Equipment includes a beige soft top, power steering, drum brakes, 16″ steel wheels, auxiliary lighting, a fold-down windshield, full metal doors, a split front bench, and inward-facing rear bench seating. This FJ43 shows 28k kilometers (~17k miles) and is offered by the selling dealer with a clean Virginia title.
The two-door FJ43 is the medium-wheelbase version of the FJ40. This example left the factory finished in Dune Beige and was refinished in 2024 in Freeborn Red. Exterior details include a beige soft top, auxiliary lights, a fold-down windshield, rear ambulance-style doors, a Pintle hitch, mud flaps, and a chrome-finished front bumper and rear bumperettes.
Gray-finished 16â³ steel wheels wear polished hubcaps and are mounted with GT Radial Maxmiler TR88 tires. A full-size spare is affixed to the rear swing-out carrier. The truck is equipped with power steering, and braking is handled by power-assisted four-wheel drums. A dent is visible on the right rear hubcap.
The split front bench and inward-facing rear benches were retrimmed under current ownership in Burberry-style vinyl. Appointments include a brown vinyl floor liner, crank windows, and a glove box.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 160-km/h speedometer as well as gauges for oil pressure, fuel level, coolant temperature, and amperage. The five-digit odometer shows 28k kilometers (~17k miles).
The 4.2-liter 2F inline-six was factory rated at 135 horsepower and 210 lb-ft of torque.
Power is routed to the rear or all four wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case.
