About This Car
This 1962 Studebaker Lark Deluxe four-door sedan was purchased by its current owner in 1985, and work performed in 1998 included refinishing the car in white and re-trimming the interior with blue vinyl and cloth upholstery. The 170ci inline-six was rebuilt in 2023, and it sends power to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission. It rides on 15″ steel wheels with chrome hubcaps and is further equipped with chrome bumpers, quad headlights, and air conditioning. This Lark is now offered at no reserve by the seller on behalf of the owner with service records and a clean Florida title in the owner’s name. The total sale amountâincluding the BaT buyerâs feeâwill be donated to Rodeheaver Boys Ranch, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization focused on providing a home environment with social, educational, and vocational programs for at-risk youth.
The car was refinished in white under current ownership in 1998, and features include bright trim, chrome bumpers, and quad headlights.
In August 2023, the painted 15â³ steel wheels were mounted with Firestone Deluxe Champion tires. The drum brakes were serviced then, with replacement master and slave cylinders, rubber lines, and shoes.
The bench seats were reupholstered in blue vinyl and cloth fabric in 1998. Dark blue carpets are protected by Studebaker-branded rubber mats, and the car is equipped with lap belts, front vent windows, a push-button AM radio, and air conditioning. The radio does not work.
The two-spoke steering wheel fronts a 120-mph speedometer, a combination gauge with readouts for fuel level and coolant temperature, and warning lights for amperage and oil pressure. The five-digit odometer shows 16k miles.
The 170ci inline-six was rebuilt in August 2023 with work that included replacing the connecting rods, main bearings, cylinder heads, piston rings, valves, and seals; rebuilding the carburetor and the water pump; honing the cylinders; and installing an air-conditioning system. The cylinders were previously bored .030″ over. The seller notes an oil leak from the pan gasket.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a column-shifted three-speed automatic transmission.
Upon completion of the auction, the winning bidder will pay the owner, who will donate the sale amount to Rodeheaver Boys Ranch, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
